true color mosaic

True color mosaic created from FC images calibrated and photometrically corrected according to [1,2].

True color was achieved by scaling the FC red, green, and blue mosaics to sRGB values calculated from the color matching functions defined by the International Commission on Illumination (CIE) multiplied with a Vesta spectrum [3].

Due to the large albedo variations over the surface it was necessary to display some very bright terrains as white.

  • Blue channel = filter #8 (430 nm)
